In 15 minutes you'll know

The four things most people want answered.

1

Am I in the right fund?

Growth, balanced or conservative, your fund choice quietly drives most of your retirement balance.

2

Am I with the right provider?

Fees, fund options and customer service vary. The right answer depends on your timeline and balance.

3

Am I contributing enough?

3.5%, 4%, 6%, 8% or 10%? Plus voluntary top-ups. We'll project the difference each one makes.

4

Will I get the full government top-up?

$260.72 a year if you contribute at least $1,042.86 by 30 June. Easy to miss, easy to fix.

Independent advice

We're not tied to one provider.

We hold the licences to recommend across a range of New Zealand KiwiSaver schemes. We pick the fit, not the kickback. Fees and ongoing costs are disclosed up front, in dollars.

What clients ask

The KiwiSaver questions we get most often.

I've been in the same fund since I signed up. Is that a problem?

Often, yes. Many people were defaulted into a conservative fund years ago when they signed up at the bank. If you're 30+ years away from retirement and sitting in a conservative fund, the long-term cost of that choice is usually six figures. Easy to fix, but worth checking.

What does it cost to get advice on my KiwiSaver?

Nothing directly. If we recommend a fund change, the provider pays us a small ongoing fee from your balance, fully disclosed in dollars before you agree. We'll always show you the alternative fee structures, not just the one that pays us.

Can you help me switch providers?

Yes. We do the paperwork, lodge the transfer, and follow it through to settlement. You don't need to tell your current provider you're leaving, we handle that.

I'm self-employed, what should I be doing?

Contribute at least $1,042.86 voluntarily by 30 June each year to capture the full $260.72 government top-up. Beyond that, your contribution rate is up to you, we'll project a sensible number based on your income and retirement timeline.

I'm saving for a first home, should I keep contributing?

Almost always, yes. After three years of membership you can withdraw most of your KiwiSaver balance towards a first home, plus there's the First Home Grant if you qualify. We'll talk you through the whole picture.

"I'd been in the same conservative fund since I started a job at 22. Nick showed me where I'd be at 65 if I stayed, and where I could be if we moved things around. No-brainer."
